About

Obsidian Aerosystems is building the next generation of unmanned aircraft around a fundamentally new approach to propulsion. We develop sound-based thermoacoustic propulsion systems designed to replace mechanical complexity with simpler, more manufacturable architectures. By reducing part count, precision-tolerance requirements, and supply-chain complexity, our technology fundamentally enables lower-cost, industrial-scale production of high-performance unmanned aerial systems. Our first product is focused on Group 2 UAS for defense applications where cost, performance, and production capacity matter most. We have built and flight-tested multiple airframe designs, developed operating propulsion systems across several thrust classes, and are advancing our first production-intent platform toward government demonstrations and deployment. Our mission is simple: solve the drone production problem through sound-based propulsion Obsidian Aerosystems is headquartered on Florida’s Space Coast.
