History

Born and raised in China, Shirley Cui-Tarantino moved to the United States in 1999 to participate in Florida Tech’s Computer Information Systems graduate program. While balancing a new language, schoolwork, four jobs, and culture shock, she excelled in her classes and upon graduation moved to Silicon Valley. She has since built a strong career working for one of the world’s largest testing and certification laboratories and served as the Chairman of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Silicon Valley. As Florida Tech was her first real experience with America, Shirley wanted to thank the school for their support and show other international students that they can achieve anything.
