Bio
Michael joined Berman Hopkins in 2005 and became an Audit Partner in 2009. His practice areas include closely-held businesses, focusing on manufacturing, distribution, and healthcare entities. He has extensive transactional experience with due diligence for purchasing or selling a business and buy/sell agreement analysis. He enjoys helping clients achieve financial success while at the same time giving value-added advice that is well beyond the standard accounting and tax services. Michael is also the lead partner for the firm's employee benefit plan audit practice. He is a subject matter expert and one of 40 approved oversight members through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). As a result, he performs a second technical review of employee benefit plan audits that have gone through the peer-review process to ensure compliance with the Department of Labor.
