Our applied behavior analysis program is dynamic and focused. You'll get started right away, taking core courses like Introduction to Psychology and Survey of Science 1: Physical Science as a freshman. Why Study Applied Behavior Analysis at Florida Tech?

Florida Tech's School of Psychology offers a family-oriented and close-knit academic environment. Students are able to work closely with professors and get to know fellow students especially with our small class sizes. Each student is assigned to a faculty adviser who assists with selecting courses, mentoring and offering guidance for career and/or graduate school opportunities. Qualified students are also encouraged to participate in faculty-led research, with some working in The Scott Center for Autism Treatment on campus.

Faculty

Faculty members represent various disciplines within the field of psychology. Many graduate faculty members from our clinical, industrial-organizational and applied behavior analysis programs teach undergraduate classes annually, making Florida Tech stand out among other applied behavioral analysis programs. In addition, we have faculty members working with autistic children in The Scott Center, researching new technologies for reducing self-injurious behavior, conducting animal training and exploring other special research topics.

Resources/Facilities

As one of the top applied behavior analysis programs, it gives our student all the tools needed to succeed. Students have access to the new Florida Tech Commons, a building that houses the School of Psychology, classrooms, human research areas, observation and treatment rooms, computer facilities, two conference rooms and a student workroom/lounge. The Scott Center, Florida Tech's on-campus autism treatment facility, provides our students with an additional resource for gaining first-hand experience within their field.

Student Organizations

Florida Tech is home to a chapter of the Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology. Psi Chi is an active student organization that participates in community service and other campus-wide events, such as providing members with the opportunity to shadow a graduate student in their research project.

Active Minds is a nation-wide organization that focuses on psychology and mental health, working to increase students' awareness of mental health issues. As members of Active Minds, students can take part in planning events and seminars that utilize the student voice to change perceptions of mental health on college campuses.

What Can You Do With An Applied Behavior Analysis Degree?
