Educational Objectives and Student Outcomes

Educational Objectives: B.S. Biomedical Engineering Program

  • Function in a technically competent manner to address challenges in biomedical engineering;
  • Use their broad-based interdisciplinary education and effective communication skills to advance in their profession;
  • Be engaged in successful advanced practice in biomedical engineering or entry to graduate professional programs such as medicine, dentistry or business; and
  • Be engaged in the design of biomedical products, processes, and systems within the context of ethical, societal and environmental factors.

Student Outcomes: B.S. Biomedical Engineering Program

  1. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  2. an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
