Orientation Lead Staff
What is Lead Staff? A team of Orientation Coordinators and one Diplomat Coordinator make up Lead Staff. Lead staff plans and organizes the Fall Orientation program at Florida Tech. The team consists of the Assistant Director of Orientation, who oversees the Orientation Lead Staff, Panther Prep Leaders, and all aspects of the orientation programming. The team is responsible for developing, planning, and designing everything for a perfect Orientation experience!
Panther Prep Leaders
What is a Panther Prep Leader, aka PPL? A PPL is a member of the Orientation Team who helps new students transition into life at Florida Tech! These individuals directly answer questions from students and give great advice coming from a fellow student who was once in their shoes. PPL’s are a direct link to the inside world of Florida Tech and are a guaranteed friend/mentor to help with students’ college experience. As a new student going through Orientation, daily meetings will be held with these PPL’s where they can answer any questions, show them around, escort them to their daily scheduled activities, and get the new students excited for an awesome college experience!
International PPL's
An international PPL is a member of the Orientation Team who specializes in the transitioning of new international students into Florida Tech and also the US. These individuals are unique because they have once experienced the exact same situations that new international students may come across! PPL's not only help the transition into college but also assist in making new students comfortable and familiar with the ways of the US. These individuals directly answer questions from students and give great advice coming from a fellow international student who was once in their shoes. These leaders are a direct link to the inside world of Florida Tech and are a guaranteed friend/mentor to help with international students’ college experience. As a new international student going through Orientation, daily meetings will be held with the PPL's where they can answer any questions, show them around, escort them to their daily scheduled activities, and get the new international students pumped for an awesome college experience!
