Student Holding Florida Tech Flag on College Colors Day

Student Life

The Office of Student Life makes it easy for you to use and develop your talents through Student Involvement. Getting involved on campus helps you build career and personal skills that will assist you long after you leave college. You will meet new people, share ideas, and learn more about yourself.

We believe learning takes place not only inside the classroom, but outside. One important opportunity for you is the chance to join and be active in a student organization. There are over 120 registered student organizations at Florida Tech, ranging from student government to cultural and ethnic organizations to club sports. We think that there is something for everyone! But, if you don't find what you are looking for, students can start new organizations to meet their needs. Please don't hesitate to let us know how we can be of assistance to you and your student organization.

Please go to Clubs and Organizations to view all of the active clubs and organizations available for students to join on campus. You can also log in through this link to get into your Panther Prowl profile. You will needs to have a tracks account through Florida Tech to log in to Florida Tech Engage. The student organization's calendar of events that lists meetings and events going on across campus is available on this site or you can click the link at the bottom of this page.

Creating Experiences to Cultivate Community

Student Involvement actively pursues the development of a university community that creates a place for every student to be successful, involved, and engaged in the work of creating a life of meaning. We accomplish this by mentoring and collaborating with visionary students who excel at creating leadership opportunities, programs and events that enrich and enliven the collegiate experience.

Campus Traditions

Student traditions create a memorable college experience at Florida Tech. In addition to the various clubs and organizations sponsored through student activities, and beyond the plentiful leadership and service opportunities, our campus also offers the following selection of innovative and engaging programs throughout the year.

Welcome Weeks - As a new student, the Office of Student Activities wants you to feel at home academically AND socially! That is why we created: Welcome Week – a dynamic schedule of activities and events, offered to all students during the first week of classes each semester!

Student Leadership Symposium - This Symposium is a one-day experience designed to broaden participants cultural competency and leadership knowledge.

Trip Series - Melbourne is a smaller city in the heart of the Space Coast, only about an hour away from large cities such as Orlando. Once a month, OSA will plan a trip to a different location in the area and will bring students there on a bus. Examples include Disney World, Universal, Halloween Horror Nights, Indoor Skydiving, etc. Students must purchase a ticket to participate in advance which are heavily discounted making it the ideal school break!

Homecoming Week - Homecoming Week is not only big for our alumni but also our students! From a Talent Show to a Carnival the Homecoming Committee, planned and implemented by our students and overseen by the OSA, has it all!

Family Weekend - Florida Tech students and the OSA invite our Panther family members to campus for a weekend of activities that always corresponds with our Homecoming Week.

Greek Life's Greek Week - Greek Week is a weeklong celebration for all of the social fraternities and sororities on campus. It is a chance for members to come together to celebrate the spirit and pride of being a part of a fraternity/sorority. United together, the Greek community uses this time to show their passion for scholarship, service, leadership and brotherhood/sisterhood. All events are open to the campus community.

Other traditions include:

  • CAB's Exam Jam in the spring and Test Fest in the fall
  • Orientation's Color Wars
  • And the list goes on......
