Developed with Credo, a nationally recognized planning firm, this plan was informed by hundreds of conversations with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners. It provides a flexible framework to guide campus growth while staying true to what makes Florida Tech unique—our people, our hands-on approach, and our vibrant sense of community.

Florida Tech is more than a collection of buildings—it’s a vibrant ecosystem where ideas thrive and futures are built. The Campus Master Plan is a blueprint for aligning our physical spaces with our mission, creating a dynamic living and learning ecosystem that attracts and empowers the next generation of leaders.
Starting in the summer of 2023, Florida Tech engaged in a strategic planning process that ultimately included the voices of over 1200 student, faculty, staff, Board members, employers and peer institutions. A central element was building on Florida Tech’s distinctive identity and promoting it as a leading national research university.
Driven by Forward Together, Boundless Potential, Florida Tech’s strategic plan, the Campus Master Plan's goal is to revitalize and unify the campus with state-of-the-art technology, living, and learning areas for students, faculty and staff to collaborate, socialize and build community.
Community input combined with further exploration of grounds, facilities and spaces have revealed and highlighted the following three guiding themes:
Key Question: How does the plan balance critical capacity with desired quality?
Key Question: Which institutional narratives are present in place and which are not?
Key Question: How can we use from necessary but expeditious space use to strategic assignment?
Several high-impact initiatives are already underway, laying the foundation for Florida Tech’s campus transformation. These projects address immediate needs while setting the stage for larger changes to come.
This 556 apartment-style student housing complex is taking shape near the northeast corner of campus. Once complete, Crimson Crossing will alleviate housing pressure, enhance residential life for hundreds of students, and serve as a launching point for additional housing expansion.

Spanning Babcock Street, Florida Tech’s new pedestrian bridge will safely connect student housing with the academic core of campus. More than a crossing, it’s a bold visual statement—creating a sense of arrival, improving walkability, and linking key parts of campus with ease and energy.
The Athletics Gateway will redefine how the campus experiences game day. With a new entrance, upgraded fields, and dedicated spaces for athletes and fans, this project will create a more unified, spirited, and accessible home for Florida Tech Athletics—one that celebrates Panther pride at every turn.
New shaded walkways, seating areas, and weather-protected outdoor rooms will offer shelter from Florida’s sun and rain, creating comfortable places for connection, study, and rest. These inviting spaces will encourage collaboration and activity across campus year-round.
The next wave of projects will redefine the Florida Tech campus experience, transforming how the university welcomes and educates students, fosters and showcases innovation, and creates valuable links between people and programs.
Florida Tech’s welcome complex will become the university’s true front door, uniting admissions, financial aid and other vital campus services in one vibrant, student-centered space. Located at Babcock and University, it’s designed to make a lasting first impression and support student success every step of the way.
Florida Tech’s housing expansion adds modern apartment-style living and reimagines older halls to better support student life. From Crimson Crossing to future Quad updates, these improvements will strengthen community and elevate the residential experience.
The new Student Design Center will be a bold, visible hub for hands-on learning, creativity, and collaboration. With space for prototyping, fabrication, and interdisciplinary teamwork, it will showcase Florida Tech’s signature maker culture and spirit of innovation.

This new interdisciplinary research facility will bring cutting-edge labs, collaborative spaces, and innovation into the spotlight. Located near the campus entrance, it will showcase Florida Tech’s growing research enterprise and support discovery across science, engineering, and beyond.
Florida Tech’s Psychology program will soon have a dedicated home designed for connection, research, and growth. This new facility brings faculty, students, and labs back under one roof—supporting a strong sense of identity and expanding opportunities for hands-on learning.
Set along the Indian River, the new boathouse will replace outdated structures with a modern facility for marine research, training, and water sports. This three-story building will enhance access to the waterfront and support Florida Tech’s unique strengths in ocean engineering and coastal science.
Florida Tech’s Master Plan doesn’t stop at buildings. It brings together everything in between: the walkways, green spaces, gathering spots, and landscapes that shape how our campus feels, flows and functions. These connecting elements unify the student experience, tie together academic and residential zones, and elevate Florida Tech’s identity as a vibrant, welcoming place to learn and grow.
New shaded pathways and outdoor “rooms” provide relief from sun and rain while creating places to pause, connect and collaborate. Pedestrian-first zones and traffic-calming features improve safety and accessibility throughout campus. Thoughtful landscaping, storm water features and the preservation of our treasured Botanical Garden reflect a deep respect for Florida’s natural beauty and a commitment to sustainability.
These finishing touches complete the vision, transforming the Florida Tech campus from a place to be into a place to belong.
