About Panther Bay: This modern, three-story, air conditioned, furnished, apartment-style residence hall is located two miles from campus just east of the Babcock Road – Palm Bay Road intersection; entrance is off the north side of Palm Bay Road. Panther Bay includes such amenities as outdoor swimming pool, picnic tables, and barbeque grills.

About the Apartments: The apartment includes 5 bedrooms with 1 twin bed per bedroom. Each bedroom also has its own bathroom that includes bathroom sink, shower, and toilet. The apartment also includes a living/dining area and full kitchen (no cookware/dishes/utensils), washer and dryer, wireless internet and cable television are provided at no additional cost (must provide your own computer and/or television).
Interns are assigned a bedroom but may request an apartment roommate(s). Interns will share the living area, kitchen and laundry room within each apartment. The Conference Services Bureau reserves the right to make all housing assignments according to availability of space.
Interns will need to provide their own bed linens, blankets, pillows and towels. Interns are to maintain clean, safe, and orderly living conditions.
Full payment for length of stay is due upon completion of registration.
Check-in and Check-out Dates: Interns may move in as early as Sunday, May 19, 2019 and MUST vacate their apartment no later than Saturday, July 27, 2019 by 6pm. Extention beyond July 27, 2019 is not possible due to university orientation and move-in for academic year residents. Detailed information on check-in procedures, times and locations will be included in your registration confirmation email which should be printed for your reference. Additional information will be provided via email during the summer to all intern housing guests.
Please note, the apartment office is not open regular hours on weekends. We will be open for intern move-in from 9am-2pm on Sunday, May 19, 2019 and from 9am-1pm on Saturday, May 25, 2019. If you arrive outside those hours, you will not be able to check in until regular office hours Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
Rent and Payment Information: Rent is $220 per person, per week, and this rate DOES NOT include state and local taxes. Additionally, there is a one-time, non-refundable a.dministration fee - amount of fee is based upon length of stay. Full payment may be made by credit card in advance via the online registration system at Intern housing registration site (link on the right).
Cancellation Policy: For a refund of your housing payment minus one week’s rent ($220.00) plus the non-refundable service fee, any total cancellation must be received in writing via email (conference (at) fit (dot) edu) no less than two weeks prior to planned arrival date. Refunds are paid via check and may take 6-8 weeks to process.
Refund Policy for Date Change: Any changes to dates of your internship that would result in a later arrival or earlier departure than your originally reserved dates must be communicated in writing via email (conference (at) fit (dot) edu) by Sunday, May 05, 2019. Any possible refund will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Be sure to discuss your internship and housing dates with your employer as soon as possible to avoid such situations. Refunds, if granted, are paid via check and may take 6-8 weeks to process.
Check-Out Information: A final apartment inspection walk-thru with a Conference Services Bureau staff member is mandatory before check-out. Final apartment inspection arrangements must be made at least 2 working days in advance of your departure. Renter must return the room to its original configuration. In addition, trash must be emptied and room cleaned. Excessive cleaning fees will be charged to individuals that do not return the room to the condition in which it was received.
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside of campus residential buildings.
Parking: You must register your vehicle with the Conference Services Bureau prior to move in. You will receive a parking permit that will need to be displayed in your vehicle while on campus. There is no additional charge for parking.
Pets: For health, sanitation, public safety and in consideration of others, pets of any sort are prohibited. Should this policy be violated, a fine of $150 will be assessed to the credit card on record, and the intern will be instructed to remove the pet from Florida Tech premises within 24 hours. Should the intern fail to remove the pet, the animal will be removed by the university at the intern’s expense and the intern may face an additional fine of $75 per day. Any damage, cleaning or pest control costs associated with the presence of an unauthorized pet will be billed to the intern.
