Room Change Requests

The housing department will take room change requests during the third week of the semester. The requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and processed on an individual basis, pending space availability. Space is limited, and reassignment is not guaranteed. You are encouraged to work with your RA and RD staff to assist you with any roommate concerns you may be experiencing.

Housing Deposit Refund Request

Housing Deposit Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of your last enrollment in on-campus housing. Deposits over 30 days from last enrollment in on-campus housing will be forfeited. 

I understand once the request is received and processed:

  • Refunds are processed after room inspections have been completed by Florida Tech staff and all housing fines have been assessed.
  • Any monies owed to Florida Tech will be deducted from the deposit prior to the refund request being processed.
  • Refunds are processed after room inspections have been completed by Florida Tech staff and all housing fines have been assessed.
  • Part or all of your housing deposit may be forfeited upon check-out if your room or common areas were in need of repairs, replacement, maintenance, disinfection, extermination, or cleaning.
  • Housing Deposit Refund request may take up to 6 weeks to process.

Florida Institute of Technology has partnered with Heartland ECSI to establish the Refund Select portal for processing all student refunds. Access the Heartland ECSI portal. You will have the ability to choose to receive your refund via direct deposit to your bank account or traditional paper check. If you need any further assistance regarding the status of your refund request please contact student accounting at studentacctg@fit.edu.
