Florida Tech Move-Out Process
To complete the move-out successfully, students must:
- Remove all personal belongings from their room and shared spaces
- Dispose of trash in designated outdoor dumpsters
- Return the room to its original condition (including removing items from walls)
- Place their room key in the designated key return envelope
- Key Return Envelopes can be found in the following locations:
- Housing Office - 2nd Floor Sunrise Center
- Key Drop Box Locations:
- Columbia Village - Outside Multipurpose Room Entrance
- Roberts Hall - 1st floor lobby
- Residential Quad - Outside Shaw Hall Entrance
- Brownlie Hall - 1st floor lobby
- L3Harris Village - 1st Floor L3HV Farmer Hall near RA Office
- Mary Star of Sea - 1st floor lobby near RA office
- Panther Bay - Outside Panther Bay Clubhouse Entrance

Extensions
- Limited extensions are available for short-term needs
- Students must complete the form in advance: Housing Extension Form
- Cost: $50 per day
- Extensions are typically limited to 2 additional days
- Graduating students receive one extra day at no cost
For longer extensions, students must contact Housing directly.
Room & Community Expectations
Rooms are inspected after moving out and compared to the original check-in condition. Any damage or cleaning needs may result in charges to the student's account. Damage to a shared or common area may be billed to all residents if responsibility cannot be determined. Trash or personal items left behind may result in additional cleaning fees.
Donations (Leave Green Program)
Students are encouraged to donate usable items at designated drop-off locations in laundry rooms. Items should not be left in rooms or hallways. This program only happens at the end of the spring semester.
Important Reminder
Failure to follow move-out procedures may result in improper checkout charges, cleaning or damage fees, and key replacement charges.
Summer Housing
Students approved for summer housing will receive instructions via email. They may be required to relocate to a different housing assignment. Personal belongings cannot be stored in spring housing between terms.
Florida Tech does not offer any student storage on campus.
