Spring 2024 semester Housing Application is OPEN. Student must pay the $100 Housing Application Fee in their New Student Portal before getting access to the Spring 2024 - Housing Application

Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 new student Housing Application is OPEN. Student must pay the $100 Housing Application Fee in their New Student Portal before getting access to the Fall 2024 - Housing Application. Housing assignments are made in the order in which applications are submitted. 

Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 returning student Housing Application is OPEN. The application must be completed by February 23rd to participate in the online room selection process.

To access the Housing portal from your phone - first request the desktop site from your web browser. The Housing portal is not mobile-friendly. 

NEED TO PAY YOUR HOUSING FEE? - You must submit one before you can apply for housing.

New Student Spring 24 Housing Application Dates

  • New Student Application Open: October 1, 2023 & Closes: January 15, 2024.
    • Application Completed by November 27, 2023.
      • Notification of placement and roommates on December 1, 2023.
    • Application Completed after November 27, 2023.
      • Notification of placement and roommates will happen within two weeks of submission of Housing Application.

New Student 24-25 Housing Application Dates

  • New Student Application Open: November 1, 2023 & Closes: September 30, 2024.
    • Application Completed by January 23, 2024.
      • Notification of Housing Area on February 1, 2024.
    • Application Completed by March 24, 2024.
      • Notification of Housing Area on March 28, 2024.
    • Application Completed by May 3, 2024.
      • Notification of Housing Area on May 10, 2024.
  • Students will be notified of their final placement and roommates by June 15, 2024.

Returning Student 24-25 Housing Application Dates

  • Returning Student Application Open: January 4, 2024 & Closes: September 30, 2024.
    • Note: All returning students with an active housing deposit will have access to the returning housing application. The $100 Housing Fee for returning students will be begin for the 25-26 school year. 
  • Returning Student Room Selection Process
    • Students who complete the housing application by February 23rd, 2024, will receive a randomized time slot for the online room selection.
    • Room Selection time slots will be release on February 26th 2024.
    • Online Room Style selection will begin on March 6th, and students will be granted access starting at their designated timeslot. The online room style selection process will go until March 22nd. The timeslots will be distributed evenly amongst those dates. 
  • Students will be notified of their final placement and roommates by June 15, 2024

Housing Exemption Request

Florida Tech has an undergraduate one-year residency requirement which can be viewed here: First-Time in College Residency Requirement. Students who have met one or more of the criteria listed in the policy or those who wish to request a special consideration for a Housing Exemption may do so through completing this form:  Housing Exemption Request.   All requests require supporting documentation. Upon submission of the form, you will be contacted by email within 5-10 days business days.    

Room Change Requests

The housing department will take room change requests during the third week of the semester. The requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and processed on an individual basis, pending space availability. Space is limited, and reassignment is not guaranteed. You are encouraged to work with your RA and RD staff to assist you with any roommate concerns you may be experiencing.

Spring 2024 Housing Extension

Complete the Spring 2024 housing extension form to request up to two day extension past the Sunday, May 5th 2024 move-out date. The deadline to submit the application is Monday, April 29th, 2024. 

Housing Deposit Refund Request

Housing Deposit Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of your last enrollment in on-campus housing. Deposits over 30 days from the last enrollment in on-campus housing will be forfeited. 

I understand once the request is received and processed:

  • Refunds are processed after room inspections have been completed by Florida Tech staff and all housing fines have been assessed.
  • Any monies owed to Florida Tech will be deducted from the deposit prior to the refund request being processed.
  • Refunds are processed after room inspections have been completed by Florida Tech staff and all housing fines have been assessed.
  • Part or all of your housing deposit may be forfeited upon check-out if your room or common areas were in need of repairs, replacement, maintenance, disinfection, extermination, or cleaning.
  • Housing Deposit Refund request may take up to 6 weeks to process.

Florida Institute of Technology has partnered with Heartland ECSI to establish the Refund Select portal for processing all student refunds. Access the Heartland ECSI portal. You will have the ability to choose to receive your refund via direct deposit to your bank account or traditional paper check. If you need any further assistance regarding the status of your refund request please contact student accounting at studentacctg@fit.edu.

At the end of the Fall 2024 semester - All housing deposit will be released back to all current on-campus students. No form will need to be submitted.
