Home to the first School of Behavior Analysis, Florida Tech set the standard for programs worldwide—combining proven training methods with faculty expertise in both research and clinical practice. Our collaborative culture treats students as colleagues and emerging professionals, fostering a hands-on, career-focused learning environment.

At Florida Tech, you’ll learn in an environment built on the principles of behavior analysis itself, with high standards, accountability and a commitment to growth.

Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and experience to advance the science of behavior and use it to improve lives and organizations.

Florida Tech’s behavior analysis faculty are dedicated researchers and practitioners committed to advancing the field and training the next generation of behavior analysts. All core faculty are Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBA® or BCBA-D®).

Working alongside professors on research and client projects, you’ll benefit from close mentorship while developing your own creativity and leadership skills.

At Florida Tech, students in the ABA and OBM program put classroom learning into action in local clinics, companies and government organizations.

You’ll design and implement behavior-analytic interventions that create meaningful change, building professional skills and a portfolio of real consulting experience along the way.

ABA and OBM students explore a range of topics through research and project-based learning, such as:

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of feedback methods
  • Improving teaching methods for individuals with disabilities
  • Increasing employee adoption of safety measures
  • Understanding the connection between stress, health and productivity
  • Comparing monetary and nonmonetary employee incentives
  • Managing absenteeism, tardiness and employee turnover

These projects give students the chance to apply behavioral science directly to real-world problems, preparing them for meaningful impact in any workplace.

Many Florida Tech professors conduct applied research outside the classroom, working in organizational consulting, clinical settings and other professional environments. Our professors are published experts in areas such as:

  • Autism spectrum disorders
  • Behavioral economics
  • Employee efficiency
  • Token economies
  • Self-management
  • Sports psychology
  • Organizational behavior management

ABA and OBM students often participate in this research, gaining opportunities to publish in respected journals and explore innovative topics in the field.

Our graduates consistently achieve high Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®) exam pass rates.

We encourage you to review University Examination Pass Rates published by the BACB.

Both capstone and thesis options are offered; you’ll choose the path that best fits your goals.

The capstone project takes you step by step through proposal development, implementation and completion across a sequence of three courses, giving you practical experience supported by restricted electives.

If you’re drawn to research, the thesis option lets you dive deep into a topic, preparing and completing an original study that strengthens your expertise.

The mission of our M.S. in behavior analysis degree programs is to produce competent behavior analytic practitioners and consultants who are solidly grounded in basic principles derived from the experimental analysis of behavior, who approach the world from a radical behaviorist perspective, who will continue to inform their practice with current research findings, who contribute to behavioral research, who attain BCBA certification, and who are prepared to enter doctoral programs.
