Graduate Funding/GSAs/Scholarships

Graduate funding is not automatically offered at the time of admission. The university does not award Graduate scholarships and Graduate assistantships are available in a minimal capacity, at the academic department's discretion. GSA funding is strictly determined and approved by the specific department. To inquire on GSA potential you must contact the department to secure an advisor; please refer to our faculty profiles.

*All Official Transcripts must be submitted before registering for your 2nd semester.

International Applicants

Students who have prior university-level educational experience outside the U.S. must provide English translations of all application materials, including transcripts.

International students who cannot provide transcripts any other way may hand-deliver official transcripts upon arriving on-campus.

English Language Proficiency

If English is not your first language, you will be required to demonstrate English proficiency before enrolling or receiving your I-20. Please see the complete list of options to satisfy Florida Tech's English proficiency requirement. Students who have attended an English language school for at least three years will be waived from the proficiency requirement.

Student Visa (International Applicants)

New international students must obtain an F-1 (student) visa or have an immigration status that permits study in the United States before they can enroll at Florida Tech. Please see the New Student Visa Requirements page for details.

Graduate Transfer Credit

If the courses constitute a logical part of the student's master's program, a maximum of 12 semester hours of transfer credit from regionally accredited institutions may be accepted, with the approval of the head of the appropriate academic unit and the director of graduate programs under the following conditions:

  • The courses must have been taken for graduate credit and must not have been applied previously to any undergraduate degree
  • They must have been graded courses, and grades of at least B- or equivalent must have been earned in each course

Graduate Study at Other Institutions

A currently enrolled student may take a limited number of courses at other institutions for transfer to a Florida Tech graduate degree program. The restrictions on graduate transfer credit listed above apply. Prior approval is mandatory. The student must complete and submit the designated form with all required signatures and written justification. A copy of the other institution's published course description(s) must be attached. The student must arrange for an official transcript to be sent by the other institution directly to the Florida Tech registrar's office.

*Graduate Admissions does not determine transfer credit. Academic Departments must approve this after admission and then submit the required paperwork to the Registrar's Office.
