Raghav Mulagala
Research Statement: I am advised by Dr. Luis Henry Quiroga-Nuñez at APSS, Florida-Tech, and my PhD is in Space Sciences. My research primarily involves using Radio Interferometry to study AGB Stars in order to classify them with the help of maser-detections, along with performing astrometry for distance and position estimates, so we can use all this information to better understand our Galaxy. I mainly use a radio (astronomical) data-calibration software called 'Common Astronomy Software Applications (CASA)' to calibrate raw-data and arrive at spectra and images of the objects being observed.
Personal Bio: I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Space Sciences, from 2023, and before this, I graduated with an M.Sc. in Astrophysics from Queen Mary, University of London, London, UK in 2020, and a B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering from GITAM university, Hyderabad, India in 2019. I have always been interested in anything related to space, physics, and engineering altogether and have tried to use any opportunity to delve into any areas in space study / research leading me to follow multiple related fields in my academic journey so far.
