Cal Whyte

Research Interest statement: I am advised by Dr. Luis Henry Quiroga-Nuñez and working on my PhD in Space Sciences. My research explores the habitability of exoplanets orbiting white dwarf stars, and the prospect of detecting life on such a planet. I utilize theoretical modeling of these planets and their atmospheres to better understand how life could thrive in a place once thought to be desolate.

Bio: I am originally from Athens, GA, and in 2021 I graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a B.S. in Pre-Med Biology. I then earned a B.S. in Astrobiology from Florida Tech in 2023 where I am now a graduate student and working in the Ortega Observatory.
