Jackie Noto
Jackie Noto earned a dual Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and Organizational Behavior Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and soon after, became a BCBA. Her thesis, Behavioral Skills Training for Active Shooter Scenarios Among Human Service Staff, received the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis Senior Student Presenter Grant at ABAI. This work was later published in JOBM. Today, Jackie applies the same behavior-analytic principles in her consulting work with school districts, where she trains staff to respond effectively during emergency situations. As a Doctoral Candidate in the Behavior Analysis program at the Florida Institute of Technology, Jackie's research spans instructional techniques, burnout, culture, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Beyond research, Jackie is deeply invested in dissemination. She serves as the Director of Outreach for the OBM Network and co-hosts the podcast, BehaviorSelf, where she translates behavioral science into accessible, engaging conversations. Another great way to disseminate is to teach! As an instructor, Jackie prioritizes an inclusive environment where students can shape their behavior. She believes in seeing students as humans first and advocates for students to engage in self-care as an individual-level mitigation strategy for burnout.
At home, Jackie enjoys time with her rescue Pitbull, Hercules. Together, they explore nearby streams, practice training, and unwind with plenty of couch cuddles.
