Kacie M. McGarry

Bio

Dr. Kacie McGarry is the associate director of the Behavior Assessment and Treatment program at the Florida Autism Center’s Specialty Clinic, located at the University of Florida and affiliated with the University of Florida Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment Disorders, with an appointment in the Department of Psychiatry. Kacie received both her master’s degree and her doctoral degree in Behavior Analysis from Florida Tech’s Melbourne, Florida campus in 2019 and 2022, respectively. Following her education at Florida Tech, she completed a two-year postdoctoral rotation at the University of Florida.

Her research has focused on staff training and retention, collaborative care with medical professionals, and evaluating assessment and treatment methods for individuals exhibiting dangerous and destructive behavior. Dr. McGarry received the B.F. Skinner Foundation Florida Graduate Student Research Award in 2020 and the Outstanding Graduate Student Award from Florida Tech in 2019 and 2021. She currently serves as a consulting editor for the journal Behavior Analysis: Research and Practice.

Dr. McGarry has experience working with families in community settings and university-based clinics. She has worked with populations across the lifespan, from early childhood through adulthood, including those diagnosed with autism and mental health conditions, to enhance their quality of life and provide caregivers with tools to maintain their child’s progress.
