Personal Overview

Dr. Miguel Buleje is an accomplished academic leader and senior technology executive with more than 20 years of experience across higher education, global consulting, and Fortune 500 organizations. As an Adjunct Professor at the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), he brings a distinguished background in teaching, curriculum innovation, faculty leadership, and enterprise technology transformation. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Buleje has served in faculty leadership roles in Engineering and Information Sciences, leading curriculum development initiatives, supporting faculty excellence, and enhancing student outcomes across undergraduate and graduate STEM programs. His expertise spans computer information systems, cybersecurity, project management, data analytics, and enterprise systems.

In addition to his work at FIT, Dr. Buleje has taught extensively at the master’s and doctoral levels at nationally and internationally recognized institutions. He has served as dissertation chair and committee member for Ph.D. candidates, mentoring scholars through the successful completion of their research. His teaching philosophy emphasizes academic rigor, applied learning, and industry relevance, integrating real-world experience into the classroom to prepare students for leadership in technology-driven environments. Dr. Buleje is also an active scholar whose research and publications focus on cybersecurity, enterprise systems, project management, and emerging technologies in higher education.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Buleje has held senior executive and consulting positions at organizations including Medtronic, Accenture, Home Depot, SAIC, and IBM. His industry leadership includes directing large-scale digital transformations, ERP implementations, mergers and acquisitions, and global enterprise integrations. Dr. Buleje holds a Ph.D. in Computer Information Science, an MBA, and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Quality Assurance, as well as multiple professional certifications, including PMP, CSM, CSPO, Six Sigma, and ITIL. His unique combination of academic scholarship and executive leadership enables him to bridge theory and practice while preparing students to succeed in rapidly evolving technological landscapes.
