Petitioning To Graduate
Graduating Students
Graduating students must have their petition to graduate received by the registrar's graduation office no later than the date shown below and in the Academic Calendar. Students petitioning after the due date are subject to a late fee of $30* and may not be able to graduate as planned because of insufficient time to verify completion of requirements.
To complete the online petition to graduate, log in to PAWS and navigate to Student Records under the Student tab.
Undergraduate and graduate certificate programs' students do not participate in commencement ceremonies.
A student may only walk in one commencement per term. For example, a student earning a master's degree in spring and doctoral in summer, can only attend the spring ceremony with their master's and then the fall ceremony with their doctoral, or only attend one ceremony and must choose which level to be recognized.
Deadlines to Petition to Graduate
If a student petitions to graduate during the semester of graduation, a late fee of $60 will be assessed.
Spring 2025 Graduation
- Last day to petition to graduate without a late fee:* September 6, 2024
- Last day to re-petition for students who had petitioned for fall 2024:* January 24, 2025
- Last day for completed graduate-level defense and exam: April 28, 2025
- Last day to submit approved copies of thesis or dissertation to the Office of Graduate Programs: May 5, 2025
- Graduation date (Saturday ceremonies): May 10, 2025
Florida Tech Online Spring-1 2025 Graduation
- Last day to petition to graduate without a late fee:* November 22, 2024

Florida Tech Online Spring-2 2025 Graduation

Summer 2025 Graduation
- Last day to petition to graduate without a late fee:* January 31, 2025
