Bio

Jordin T. Chandler is a dynamic leader and dedicated public servant with deep roots in Brevard County, Florida.

Currently, Chandler serves as a government affairs manager (Florida Area) for WM, formerly known as Waste Management Inc. of Florida, where he leverages his expertise to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and foster strong community relationships.

Chandler's career is marked by a steadfast commitment to public service and strategic advocacy.

Before his role at WM, he distinguished himself as a government relations consultant, providing invaluable counsel to a diverse portfolio of corporate entities. His impressive client list included prominent organizations such as Brightline Trains, Health First, Driftwood Capital, and USSSA, Inc., among others, where he played a pivotal role in advancing their legislative and policy objectives.

His foundational years were shaped by a robust academic journey.

In 2016, Chandler was honored with a prestigious Presidential Scholarship from former Florida Tech President Dr. Anthony J. Catanese, a testament to his exceptional promise. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts in humanities/pre-law in 2019.

Further broadening his global perspective, Chandler was fortunate enough to embark on an enriching study abroad experience, exploring the cultures and histories of France, Italy, and Greece.

Chandler’s professional accomplishments are both impactful and far-reaching.

He played a crucial role in helping a team of trial lawyers secure a contract with one of Central Florida's largest municipalities, enabling them to represent the city in the nationwide opioid litigation against Big Pharma. This city notably became the first municipality in Florida to file such a suit, a landmark effort that ultimately resulted in a significant $1.5 million settlement.

One of Chandler’s most profound contributions to his community came through his leadership in addressing Brevard's affordable housing crisis.

He authored and spearheaded a countywide ballot initiative to establish a Workforce and Supportive Housing Trust Fund within the County’s Home Rule Charter. This vital initiative, designed to provide a sustainable funding source for affordable housing, garnered overwhelming support, passing with over 53% of voter approval on Nov. 8, 2022.

To date, approximately $3 million has been allocated, directly expanding affordable housing opportunities in unincorporated Brevard County.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Chandler is deeply committed to "pouring into others," believing that "human decency is the smallest act of kindness." This philosophy is vividly demonstrated through his mentorship of juvenile males incarcerated at the Brevard County Jail and his involvement in many social and civic organizations throughout Brevard County.

Chandler’s extensive community involvement and dedication have been widely recognized.

He is the proud recipient of numerous accolades, including Florida Tech’s 2018 Greek Volunteer of the Year Award, the 2018 Young Citizen Award at the Space Coast Public Service Awards and Hall of Fame Ceremony, and he was honored with LEAD Brevard’s prestigious 2023 4 Under 40 Award.

With a steadfast mentality, Chandler lives by his cherished motto: "service before self."
