SFC Jason Watson
Bio
SFC Watson began his military career in 2004 when he enlisted in the Army Reserve as a Nutritional Care Specialist. He completed Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and went on to complete Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia, and Fort Sam Houston, Texas. For the next two years, he served with a Combat Support Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He later transitioned to the Active Army as a Fire Support Specialist, where he dedicated the remainder of his career.
Throughout his service, SFC Watson held numerous leadership positions within the Fire Support community at the platoon, company, and battalion levels. He deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, once to Afghanistan, and once to Cuba in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He also completed an overseas tour in Korea, serving alongside the South Korean Defense Forces.
Over the course of his career, SFC Watson served in a wide range of critical roles, including Squadron Fire Support Sergeant, Battalion Intelligence NCO, Battalion Staff Platoon Sergeant, Army Recruiter, Troop Fire Support NCO, Forward Observer, Aerostat and Raid Tower Operator, and as both a mounted and dismounted machine gunner on wheeled and tracked vehicles.
SFC Watson’s awards and decorations include: Army Commendation ( 9th Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal ( 5th Oak Leaf Cluster), Meritorious Unit Commendation ( 2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), NATO Medal ( Bronze Star), Army Good Conduct Medal ( 6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on terrorism Medal ( Service and expeditionary), Iraq campaign Medal ( 3 campaign stars), Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award), Drivers Badge ( Wheeled), and the Recruiting Badge.
