Bridging to Updated Requirements

Students who apply for BCBA^® or BCaBA^® certification exams after January 1, 2027 will be expected to meet the 2027 Certification Requirements.

Time Limits on Coursework and Fieldwork

There is a 10-year limit on behavior analytic coursework used for Pathway 2 BCBA and BCaBA certification applications. . That means, for instance, those applying for certification in 2026 will not be able to use behavior analytic coursework that was taken prior to 2016.

Fieldwork cannot be older than five years from the date of application. If you are completing bridge coursework and your fieldwork hours are older than five years, you will need to complete additional fieldwork hours to be eligible for the BCBA exam.

If You Took ABA Courses at Florida Tech

If you took your courses with us, please contact abaonline@fit.edu for advising. We will provide instructions on how to apply as a non-degree seeking student.

If You Took ABA Courses at Another School

If you took courses at another school, you can still complete coursework at Florida Tech. Florida Tech cannot offer attestations for BACB certifications across multiple institutions. Please contact a formerly attended school to confirm that they will provide the required attestation. Once you have confirmed with your previous school they can provide a full attestation containing both Florida Tech and previous coursework, please notify us by emailing abaonline@fit.edu . We will provide instructions on how to apply as a non-degree seeking student.

Upon request, we are willing to provide the "Inter-University Partial Coursework Communication Form."
