Personal Overview

Dr. Acharyya earned his B.Sc. in Statistics from Presidency University in Kolkata, India and his M.Sc. in Statistics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He subsequently received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from John Hopkins University. During his doctoral studies, he investigated problems in neuroscience and machine learning, applying advanced statistical methods to address complex data-driven challenges. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Mathematical Institute for Data Science at John Hopkins University, he developed novel methodologies for statistical inference in black-box generative AI models.

Dr. Acharyya has presented his research at numerous conferences, including the Joint Statistical Meetings and Computational Methodologies in Statistics. His scholarly interests include the statistical properties of random graphs, machine learning, and the theoretical and empirical behavior of large language models.
