When to Apply
Florida Tech is a rolling admissions university. Applications for undergraduate admission are accepted year-round and evaluated as they are received. Students who require an F-1 should keep in mind their country’s Visa Appointment Wait Times and the university’s I-20 deadlines when applying. Applications received after the I-20 deadline may not be considered for that entry term. Early submission is encouraged.
- Fall entry term I-20 deadline: July 1st of enrollment year
- Spring entry term I-20 deadline: November 1st of enrollment year
Funding Your Florida Tech Degree
Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents are considered international students for scholarship eligibility. International students are eligible for select Florida Tech scholarships and grants. Please see the University Scholarships and Grants page for details. Applicants are automatically considered for scholarships upon admission.
Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents are ineligible for need-based aid unless deemed an eligible noncitizen through the FAFSA. Florida Tech does not accept the CSS Profile or ISFAA.
U.S. citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents, regardless of where they are living or attending secondary school, may apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA.
Employment: International students holding an F-1 visa are permitted to work on campus up to 20 hours per week starting their first semester. F-1 students may participate in paid internships or co-ops after one year of enrollment. These opportunities can supplement the cost of a Florida Tech degree but will not cover the full cost of attendance. International students holding a visa or immigration status other than F-1 should confirm that their status permits employment.
Outside Scholarships: Florida Tech encourages all students to apply to outside scholarships. Outside scholarships may be applied to educational costs not covered by Financial Aid.
Loans: International students may consider private loans to cover the remaining cost of their education. Typically, international students who obtain a private loan from a U.S. institution must have a U.S. citizen as co-signer. Every dollar borrowed through a private loan must be paid back with interest.
Florida Tech tuition rates depend on a student’s program of study. Please see the Cost of Attendance website for details.
F-1 students are required to demonstrate sufficient funding for the first year cost of attendance after acceptance and before receiving their I-20. Please see the New Student Visa Requirements webpage for details.
Requirements after Admission
New international students must obtain an F-1 (student) visa or have an immigration status that permits study in the United States before they can enroll at Florida Tech. Please see the New Student Visa Requirements for details.
Students whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate English proficiency before enrolling or receiving an I-20. Please see the Demonstrating English Proficiency webpage for a complete list of options to satisfy Florida Tech’s English proficiency requirement.
