Panther Robotics

Panther Robotics is Florida Tech’s student-run robotics organization. Through our club, students who have a passion for technology are provided opportunities to use their engineering knowledge on robotics projects. Engineering disciplines such as designing, machining, 3D printing, programming, building, and more are utilized in our club to help students learn real-world skills while working on fun and exciting projects. Any funds donated to our club will be used to support any one of the following club sections:

VexU Robotics Team

Every year, our VexU team builds at least two robots for the yearly Vex Robotics game. VexU, the college portion of Vex Robotics, gives us rules and requirements that we in turn will use to build robots using Vex, commercial, and custom parts. Once completed, our team will go to competitions across the nation and compete against other universities. The design, fabrication, assembly, and programming of these robots demands engineering skills and knowledge, and the rules allow us to design and manufacture our own custom parts wherever we see fit.

BattleBots Team

Panther Robotics now has a BattleBots Team! Club members can design their own 3 lb. beetle-weight class robot using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Our goal is to build as many robots as we can to ensure every student has the opportunity to see their BattleBot design come alive. Additionally, we have constructed an 8 ft. hexagonal field that our club will use to test robot designs and host club and collegiate BattleBots tournaments.

Engineering Workshops

One of the main missions of Panther Robotics is to provide club members with unmatched opportunities to learn and develop their engineering skills. As a club, we will be providing students with industry-level computer-aided design (CAD) workshops that will offer lessons in the basics of using CAD software, assembling multiple parts to form a complex system, and how to program a part to be machined using CNC technology. Additionally, we provide workshops on other engineering principles, such as Arduinos and general programming, both of which are an integral part of robotics.

Any support given to Panther Robotics is appreciated greatly and makes all the difference in helping us achieve our goals as a robotics organization. Thank you!
