Physics Resource Center (PRC)

Welcome To The PRC!

The Physics Resource Center (PRC) is the place where students receive assistance in freshman and sophomore level Physics courses. The PRC offers one-to-one and small group tutoring for all 1000, 2000, and 3000 level Physics and Space Sciences courses and supplemental instruction for core Physics courses.

Tutoring services are offered in person or online. Although walk-ins are welcome, students are encouraged to use the online booking platform to make appointments for virtual and in-person sessions as often as needed.

Prepare To Succeed

To prepare for tutoring sessions, students should bring textbooks, notes, completed homework, study guides, and graded quizzes or exams. Having material from the course gives both the students and tutors a starting point for the tutoring sessions. Students should expect to work through problems, draw diagrams, engage in discussions and explanations, and participate actively.

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) provides additional support for students in problem solving and understanding. SI can be helpful at any stage of a course, whether in seeking ideas to help with homework or in studying for exams. Generally, SI sessions include problem solving, both guided as well as student-led. Near exam times, review sessions can be held as part of SI. Tutors and GSAs work with class instructors to maximize the learning experience.
