Joseph M. Barlow
Bio
Meet Joseph! He is a senior studying Aeronautical Science with Flight with a minor in Aviation Safety and an AA in Air Traffic Control in the College of Aeronautics.
Originally from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he chose Florida Tech because of its prime location for pilot training, its well-known and well-connected flight program, and its reputation in the military and defense industries.
As a President’s Ambassador, he hopes to build connections across industries and gain experience in networking at events. He also hopes to contribute to leadership training within the program to enhance skill sets for the workplace.
After graduation, he hopes to become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and either transition to the airlines or commission as an officer in the Air Force to gain further experience.
His favorite thing about Florida Tech: “Being there for my classmates as they get their Polaroid taken after receiving a new pilot license, and the camaraderie shared when they show up for me when I am awarded a new pilot license.”
His involvement at Florida Tech: International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI) at Florida Tech (Vice President), Investment Club (President), Orientation Team, Collegiate Aviation Business Executives (CABE), Intervarsity Club, ALPA (Airline Pilot Association) Florida Tech Chapter
His involvement off-campus: Frequently supports small events and community outreach at his church. This community service included accumulating 100 service hours by coordinating and organizing events with the Hurricane Milton Preparation Squad, Vacation Bible School, and Christmas Festival Outreach.
