Bio
Meet Emma! She is a junior studying Animal Behavior & Cognition in the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts.
Emma chose Florida Tech because she knew it would help shape her into the person she wanted to become. The university’s commitment to research, numerous undergraduate opportunities, and variety of extracurricular activities made her decision easy. Growing up as a military brat, she attended several schools in different countries, but none felt like home the way Florida Tech does.
As a President’s Ambassador, Emma hopes to apply her leadership and advocacy skills in new contexts and work with a group of like-minded individuals. She also aims to strengthen her professional skills and connect with people outside of her field of study.
After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree and a Ph.D., then hopes to work in animal refuges or conservation centers located in biomes facing the highest animal extinction rates, such as rainforests.
Her favorite thing about Florida Tech: “Being a member of its rich environment and community. Despite being a small school, it encompasses the same liveliness and passion for its student body as a large state university. From events and activities to classes and study sessions, Florida Tech has an inclusive and powerful culture that makes me excited to wake up and begin every day. And seeing rocket launches from campus!”
