Ananiah Piango
Bio
Meet Ananiah! She is a junior studying Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering & Science.
Originally from Diego Martin, Trinidad, Ananiah chose Florida Tech because it aligned with her desire for a hands-on learning experience and a supportive community. As an international student, finding a place that combined strong STEM programs with a welcoming environment was important to her, and Florida Tech stood out for providing both.
As a President’s Ambassador, she is excited to share the mission and spirit of the university. She wants to show others why Florida Tech has become her home away from home. The university has given her the chance to challenge herself academically while also finding a community that encourages growth beyond the classroom. She looks forward to networking with alumni and guests, building relationships that will shape her future while representing Florida Tech.
After graduation, Ananiah hopes to continue working in a research lab and pursue a master’s degree, followed by a Ph.D. in tissue engineering. Her goal is to contribute to discoveries and advancements in regenerative medicine.
Her favorite thing about Florida Tech: “My favorite thing about the Florida Tech experience is the people, both staff and students, who make the campus feel like home. I also enjoy the hands-on research I get to do in the lab, the many volunteering opportunities, the botanical garden, and the Christian community.”
Her involvement at Florida Tech: Honors College, Undergraduate Student Researcher in Functional Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Society of Women Engineers (Vice President), Relay for Life (Campus Engagement Support Lead), Student Government Association (Senator), Panther Peer Mentor, Alpha Eta Mu Beta, Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Alpha Alpha, Campus Crusade for Christ International
