Liceth Daniela Barajas Moreno

Meet Daniela! She is a senior studying Aerospace Engineering in the College of Engineering & Science.

Originally from Bogota, Colombia, she chose Florida Tech because of its strong aerospace engineering program and history with NASA. She was also interested in the many opportunities available to students to participate in research, internships, and hands-on projects. Daniela really values the small class sizes because she wanted to build meaningful relationships with faculty. She learned about Florida Tech through a Larsen Motorsports video and discovered that this was the school for her.

As a President’s Ambassador, she hopes to share her experiences to showcase how students can accomplish their goals at Florida Tech. She also wants to give back to the university through volunteer work while strengthening her professional skills and connecting with people outside of her field of study. Daniela loves to get involved in different opportunities to grow while supporting and connecting with other people.

After graduation, she hopes to begin her professional career in systems engineering. She wants to continue developing her technical and professional skills within the aerospace industry. Eventually, she’d like to take on professional leadership roles to lead engineering teams and contribute to meaningful projects.

Her favorite thing about Florida Tech: “The people and the community you can build through the university's many academic, professional, and social organizations. I love that I can work toward my career while also meeting new people, getting involved in different activities, and building meaningful friendships.”

Her involvement at Florida Tech: Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (President), AIAA. Panther Rocket Lab, Alpha Phi, Latin American Student Association, Panther Peer Mentor Program, Women in Aerospace Engineering, TechFutures Research, Space Vehicles and Robotics Lab

Her involvement off-campus: Colombian Association of Women in Aerospace, ACHIEVED Orbital Competition 2026 by the Space Generation Advisory Council, Larsen Motorsports (former intern)

In her free time: “I enjoy building LEGO sets, reading, roller skating, going to the movies, travelling and spending time with my family and friends.”
