Charlotte Eley
Meet Charlotte! She is a Psy.D. student in Clinical Psychology in the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts. Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology.
A local student from Melbourne, Florida, Charlotte chose Florida Tech because she wanted an intimate college experience. She credits Florida Tech’s close campus community and the unique opportunities that small class sizes offer. For her undergraduate degree, Florida Tech allowed her to pursue her goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Psychologist while staying close to her family. The Psychology program offers flexibility in coursework, enabling her to explore different areas of the major that interest her.
As a returning President’s Ambassador, Charlotte hopes to represent both the university and her academic department in an upstanding manner. She seeks to build lasting relationships with those within the Florida Tech community and within the President’s Ambassadors cohort.
After graduation, she aims to become a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Florida. She has a particular interest in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of anxiety and related mental health disorders. Charlotte loves to get to know other people and their life stories. Her life mantra is “be curious, not judgmental”.
Her favorite thing about Florida Tech: “I love the late-night Florida Tech hockey games at Space Coast Iceplex!”
Her involvement at Florida Tech: Anxiety and OCD Lab, Child Applied Memory and Law Lab, Graduate Student Assistant in Psychology, Panther Spirit Squad
In her free time: “I love to spend time with my family, put together jigsaw puzzles, and read fantasy novels.”
