Meet Your 2026-2027 Ambassadors

Meet Britney! She is a Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering & Science. Britney holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of the West Indies.

Originally from Portland, Jamaica, Britney chose Florida Tech because of its strong research opportunities and commitment to innovation. She was especially drawn to Dr. Liu’s research that focuses on using non-invasive techniques for assessing brain health. Britney knew Florida Tech would provide the optimal environment for a prospective researcher to explore ideas and develop their research skills.

As a President’s Ambassador, Britney aims to challenge herself, learn from experienced leaders, and gain perspectives that extend beyond her academic training.

After graduation, Britney aspires to transition into research related to developing devices for assessing brain health and to offer her services to train students in computational neural engineering. Britney loves giving back to the community and is a firm believer that she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her.

Her favorite thing about Florida Tech: “Florida Tech sunsets on a Friday evening.”

Her involvement at Florida Tech: IEEE-Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (Vice President), Graduate Student Assistant in Biomedical Engineering

Her involvement off-campus: Member of Upper Room Fellowship

In her free time: “I find joy in singing, drawing, and reading.”
