Ananiah Piango
Meet Ananiah! She is a senior in the FastTrack program studying Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering & Science.
Originally from Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago, Ananiah chose Florida Tech because it felt the closest to home. The warm weather, palm trees, and welcoming community gave her a sense of familiarity. She felt that Florida Tech was a place where she could grow academically, deepen her faith, and build a community that would become her home away from home.
As a returning President’s Ambassador, she hopes to help students feel welcomed, supported, and confident about choosing Florida Tech. Ananiah is guided by her faith, and she strives to treat every person with kindness, sincerity, and compassion. She wants to share her authentic experiences to showcase that Florida Tech is a place where students can grow and find their community.
After graduation, Ananiah plans to find a job in the biomedical engineering industry or pursue a PhD. Ananiah credits her faith as the foundation of who she is. She tries to approach every opportunity with gratitude, compassion, and purpose.
Her favorite thing about Florida Tech: “My absolute favorite thing about Florida Tech is the people, many of whom have made this place so special to me. My runner-up would be the turtle pond in the botanical garden.”
Her involvement at Florida Tech: Residence Life, Caribbean Students’ Association (President), National Biomedical Honor Society (Vice President), Undergraduate Researcher in Tissue Engineering, Honors College
In her free time: “I enjoy spending time with friends, traveling to new places and going to the beach!”
