Departmental Mission Statement

The mission of the Mechanical and Civil Engineering Department is to prepare graduate and undergraduate students to be successful professionals and leaders in global and local environments related to the work place in the industry, research, business, and management:

  • by maintaining accredited undergraduate programs;
  • by providing state-of-the-art curricula which are continuously improved through a thorough assessment of key student performance related metrics;
  • by developing and maintaining research programs in focus areas that complement the above-stated educational mission of the department.

The program educational objectives of the civil engineering program are to produce graduates who:
