When the (LMS) jet dragster racing teams aren't representing Florida Tech at national racing events and exhibitions across the U.S., they can be found working in their high-tech headquarters inside the university's Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design. Located just down the road from campus, the Larsen Motorsports High Performance Vehicles Research & Development Center is where the Larsens teach and train Florida Tech students to engineer and fabricate jet-powered dragsters and related technologies.
Your family is welcome to visit and take a tour of LMS, either as part of a Florida Tech Daily Visit or on your own.
Larsen Motorsports tour elements vary depending on availability of certain staff members and race schedules. A typical tour includes a historical overview of Larsen Motorsports, viewing of lab and fabrication areas, up-close look at the cars (including the Florida Tech jet dragster!) and chats with Florida Tech interns, LMS staff and the owners, Elaine and Chris Larsen.
