Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar assists academic units in ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures pertaining to the observance of academic calendars, examinations, grading practices, and recording academic performance, which includes academic honors, academic probation and academic dismissal. The registrar’s office certifies transfer credit from outside the university, verifies completion of degree requirements and coordinates the graduation ceremony.
Certain popular courses are waitlisted. A student trying to register for a closed section of a waitlisted class will have the option to go on an automated waitlist. When a seat becomes available in the desired section, the student at the top of the waitlist receives an email and has 24 hours to add the class online. During the student’s allotted time period, no other student will be able to register for that seat. If there is no response within that time, the student will be automatically dropped from the waitlist and the next student on the list will be notified.
The Office of the Registrar supports the mission of the institution through its role of recordkeeping and data management by producing the university catalog and class schedules, conducting registration, maintaining academic records, and informing students of their academic rights and responsibilities.
