How To Apply To The I/O Program

Well qualified applicants with a bachelor’s degree (or soon to have a bachelor’s degree) in psychology, business or other related field are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will have a strong GPA (3.2 or better) and GRE scores, as well as experience in research and/or some work or leadership experience. Although there is no formal cut-off for GRE scores we find students with around 306 (verbal and quantitative combined) tend to do very well in the program.

An applicant should submit two letters of recommendation, resume, a statement of career objectives and Graduate Record Examination Test (GRE) scores. Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate courses attempted must also be submitted. You can find all the application forms you will need . You can also apply online now.

All applications must be submitted by January 15.

You may submit an application for the master’s program in I/O, the Ph.D. program in I/O or both. Incoming students start in the fall of each year; mid-year admissions are not permitted.

Preadmission visits to the campus and at conferences are encouraged. Our faculty, staff, and students will be happy to speak with you about the program. If you are interested in meeting our faculty members or our students please contact Dr. Burns (gburns@fit.ed) .

Undergraduates currently enrolled at Florida Tech are eligible for the Fast Track program.

If you have any questions regarding the application progress please contact the School of Psychology at 150 West University Blvd. Melbourne, FL 32901 Phone: (321) 674-8104, Fax: (321) 674-7105. Or, you can contact the Program Chair, Dr. Gary Burns, Ph.D.

Good luck in your search for a graduate program. We hope you will consider Florida Tech.
