Mission and Vision

Our Mission

The Industrial Organizational Psychology graduate programs at Florida Tech provide students with rigorous training in the key content areas of I/O psychology, as well as many opportunities to participate in research and applied work.

Our Vision

Advance the field of I/O psychology by training exceptional scientist-practitioners in a personal and collegial environment.

The mission of the Industrial Organizational Psychology graduate programs is to provide exceptional training and professional education that incorporates science with experience in application to graduate students. The primary objective is to provide students with training that is consistent with the Guidelines for Education and Training in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (an official publication of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology), preparing them for careers in either academia (i.e., university-based teaching and research) or industry (e.g., consulting).

We foster a collaborative culture in which students are encouraged to set and achieve their personal educational goals. Our program is well known for its interactive, creative culture. We pride ourselves on working hard and having fun while we do it. Graduate school is an important decision. It is an investment you make in yourself and your future. We expect you will learn as much as you can while you are here but we also expect you to enjoy your life and your time in graduate school (as well as your time at the beach, it’s only a mile from campus!).

The Industrial Organizational Psychology graduate programs provide students with the skills they need to be successful in the contemporary workplace. Students learn to assess and solve problems in the real world of business and organizations. Our alumni have successful careers in consulting, industry, research and academics.
