The Falcons Flight Team is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students primarily from FIT's College of Aeronautics, but all majors are welcome. They compete in the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) Region IX competition each year, with hopes of qualifying for the NIFA SAFECON (Safety and Evaluation Conference) national event. The Falcons well-recognized program has a great working relationship with the university, flight program, and local community, who all support them as they represent them around the country.

NIFA's Mission Statement:

"The National Intercollegiate Flying Association was formed for the purposes of developing and advancing aviation education; to promote, encourage and foster safety in aviation; to promote and foster communications and cooperation between aviation students, educators, educational institutions and the aviation industry; and to provide an arena for collegiate aviation competition."

The Collegiate Aviation Business Executives (CABE) facilitates a networking relationship with students and the aviation business world by educating, inspiring, and providing experiences and opportunities for personal growth. CABE is a student chapter of the Florida Airports Council and the American Association of Airport Executives. Members of CABE have the opportunity to travel to professional conferences, seminars, airports, networking events, and airshows. CABE has been continually recognized as one of the strongest student chapters in the USA.

The International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI) is open to any students with a passion for aviation safety and accident prevention. Our meetings include discussions on important accidents, current news involving safety, as well as knowledgeable guest speakers from different aspects of the aviation industry. Past guest speakers have included accident investigators from all over the world, human factors engineers, safety specialists, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) representatives.

"Women in Aviation Space Coast Florida Tech Chapter" (WAISCFTC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of women in all aviation related fields. The chapter is committed to bringing together all aviation related majors to form a network of aviation professionals that are available to provide information on the aviation industry and the possibilities it holds.

The Space Coast Florida Tech Chapter participates in the following: Aviation Day held at FIT Aviation at the Melbourne International Airport; involvement in Grils' in Aviation Day; contribution to and/or involvement in Corporate Angel Network; extending to local middle and elementary schools (to inform children of the possibilities of an aviation related career or any aviation education and skills to be taught); visits to the Melbourne International Airport (such as the following but not exhaustive-control tower, FBO's, landside and airside tours); National Business Aviation Association conference; and the Women in Aviation International Conference among other aviation-related events and activities of choice.

The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) is an interdisciplinary club for undergraduate and graduate students at FIT interested in human factors and ergonomics. Students in all majors are invited to join. HFES hosts guest speakers and visits local companies to learn about human factors and ergonomics in research and practice. The club also provides members with conference and networking opportunities.

The Drone Club at Florida Tech is inspiring students to pursue their interest in unmanned aerial systems. The club focuses on all aspects of drone operation, including building, racing, photography and filming, and aerial mapping and surveying. Resources are available for students to practice flying on simulators before trying their hand at flying one of the many club drones. You get out of this club what you put into it!

No prior drone experience is necessary, but a willingness to learn is highly encouraged! The club meets every other Thursday at 7pm.
