Registration Information

Admitted students may register online through PAWS. Check the ABA Online Class Schedule for available classes.

  • ABA Online students should register only for courses with sections that start with "W" (e.g., W01, W05, W22).
  • Most courses include a required online meeting. The time listed in the class schedule is your scheduled meeting time and is in Eastern Time (EST/EDT).

Register for all courses in your plan of study before the add/drop deadline, including those that start later in the semester. All schedule changes, including meeting time changes, must also be made by the deadline.

For more details, visit the Registrar's advising and registration page.

Class meeting times are offered throughout the week, from early morning until late evening. Students needing a specific day and time for the synchronous portion of their course should register early in the registration window for the broadest selection of times and days.

If the time/day combination you would like is full, you must select a different class time.

Courses Without Online Meetings

These courses are designed to be completed at the student's convenience during the Unit Week, without an additional online meeting in their schedule. Course descriptions can be found in the catalog.

  • BEH 5040 is a preliminary competency assessment and should only be taken in the final semester to assist students in preparing for their final program exam (FPE).
  • BEH 5060-5065 focus on practical applications of behavior analysis as it applies to the student's experience.
  • BEH 5073 Restricted Elective does not have meeting times.

The course sequence is designed to be progressive in content. Courses are listed on the program plan in prerequisite order. The content must be mastered prior to advancing to a subsequent courses. Not following the plan may delay graduation. To request a modified plan please email abaonline@fit.edu.

Students take 5-7 credits per semester but may not exceed 7 credits.

Note: 3-credit courses on ABA Online Program plans are offered at the graduate certificate rate. 1-credit courses are offered at the M.A. Behavior Analysis Professional Practice rate.

Requests to drop or withdraw from a course must be received prior to the drop or withdrawal deadline. To drop or withdraw from a course, please contact your program administrators AND submit the proper paperwork BEFORE the drop or withdrawal deadline.

Drop Policy: Students may drop a course by the semester add/drop date. Students dropping a course by this date will receive the tuition credit, and the course will not appear on the student’s permanent academic record. Failure to attend class or verbal notification to the instructor/staff does not constitute an official drop from the course. Please see the ABA Online academic calendar for add/drop deadlines.

Withdrawal Policy: After the add/drop deadline, students may withdraw from the course by submitting a withdrawal form prior to the withdrawal deadline for the course. Withdrawing during this time period will result in forfeiture of all registration fees paid to the university, and a grade of W will appear on the student’s permanent academic record.

Failure to attend classes or verbal notification to the instructor/staff does not constitute an official withdrawal from the course. Students who do not officially withdraw from a course prior to the withdrawal deadline, and who do not successfully complete the course, will receive a failing grade of F on their permanent academic record.

Please note the ABA Online program’s academic calendar is different from the on-campus or the extended studies academic calendar. Students are responsible for assessing their own situation before the withdrawal deadline and requesting a withdrawal from the course if they, for any reason, will not be able to complete the course.

Program Withdraw: Students who would like to withdraw from the program and do not plan to return should contact abaonline@fit.edu for assistance.
