Private Scholarships And Grants

Florida Tech encourages all students to apply for outside scholarships. These opportunities can help pay for educational costs not covered by other Financial Aid.

Scholarship Search Websites

Expand the Scholarship Search Website section below to view a list of websites where you might consider browsing for scholarship opportunities. Be vigilant: sometimes searching for scholarships on search engines can be intimidating, especially with the risk of scams. To learn more about how to avoid scams and report fraudulent activity, visit the Federal Trade Commission's Scholarship and Financial Aid Scams web page.

Private Loans

Private education loans are different from federal loans—you get them directly from a private bank or lending company, not the government.

We use a tool called FASTChoice to help you easily compare lenders who have worked with Florida Tech students before and meet our quality standards. While we show you several options on FASTChoice, you are always free to choose any private lender you want.

  • The loans must be repaid, with interest.
  • Private loans are not federally guaranteed and do not have the same repayment options as federal loans.
  • FASTChoice is not an exhaustive list of all lenders. We encourage students to check with their financial institutions as well.
  • You are not required to use a lender on the FASTChoice list; you can choose any private lender you like.
  • Florida Tech explicitly prohibits any conflict of interest between our counselors and Federal or private education loans.  All counselors responsible for loans are informed annually of the provisions of this code of conduct.  The code of conduct prohibits:
  • Revenue-sharing arrangements with any lender
  • Receiving gifts from a lender, a guarantor, or a loan services
  • Contracting arrangement providing financial benefit from any lender or affiliate of a lender
  • Directing borrowers to particular lenders, or refusing or delaying loan certifications
  • Offers of funds for private loans
  • Call center or financial aid office staffing assistance
  • Advisory board compensation
