Need a little bit more money to help with college?  Florida Tech encourages all students to apply for outside scholarships.   Sometimes searching for scholarships can be quite intimidating, especially with the risk of scams.  FinAid.org/Scholarships can quickly arm you with the knowledge to smartly and efficiently search for scholarship aid and avoid scholarship scams.  To learn more about how to avoid scams and report fraudulent activity, visit the Federal Trade Commision's Scholarship and Financial Aid Scams web page.

Association of Food and Drug Officials $,2,500

Sponsored by Association of Food & Drug Officials (AFDO): The recipients should have demonstrated a desire to serve in a career of research, regulatory work, quality control, or teaching in an area related to some aspect of foods, drugs or consumer product safety; should have demonstrated leadership capabilities; be in their third year of undergraduate college; and must have attained at least a 3.0 grade point average during the first two years of undergraduate study. The “George M. Burditt Scholarship” and the “Betsy B. Woodward Scholarship”, both in the amount of $2,500 each will be awarded annually to a worthy recipient who is in their third year of college, and the "Denise C. Rooney Scholarship,"worth $2,500 was created in June 2008 and will also be awarded annually to a worthy recipient who is in their third year of college.

Brevard Community Scholarships Amount Varies

Sponsored by The Community Foundation for Brevard: Applicants must reside in Brevard County, and preference is given to applicants who graduated from a Brevard County High School. FIT Students are eligible for three scholarships::  *Norma S. Annabal Scholarship  *Pablo Enriquez Memorial Scholarship  *Ella Josephine Goodman Horn Fund Scholarship. Carolyn Kelly Memorial Education Scholarship Amount Varies

Charleston Family Trust Scholarship up to 3,000

Clay Ford Scholarship for CPA Education Amount Varies

Sponsored by The Florida Board of Accountancy: Open to any Florida resident minority student who needs to remain in school for the fifth year required to obtain a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license.  Students must provide proof of Florida Residency, completion of 120 semester hours from an accredited institution, scholarship ability and performance, financial need by completing the FAFSA, and proof of minority status as defined in Florida Statute 288.703(4).

Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship $30,000 of Added Benefit 

Sponsored by The Department of Veterans Affairs: The (VA) is launching the Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship for students training in high demand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. Recipients will receive up to nine months of additional Post-9/11 GI Bill entitlement or a maximum of $30,000. Eligible Post-9/11 GI Bill students must have either exhausted their entitlement or will exhaust their entitlement within 180 days.

WTS Foundation Scholarships Amount Varies

Sponsored by Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) Central Florida Chapter. The Frankee Hellinger Scholarships: Open to female students who plan to pursue a career in a transportation-related field.  Must have a 3.0 GPA in a transportation-related major such as engineering, construction management, planning, finance or logistics. There will be 2 Undergraduate and 2 Graduate level scholarships for the 2021 Fiscal year.

2021-2022 Brecht Scholarship Application $1,000

Sponsored by the late Frederick W. Brecht: This scholarship will pay up to $1,000 per year to Brevard County residents attending colleges or universities in the state of Florida. Applicants must be a resident of Brevard County, Demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum overall (GPA) of 2.0. The scholarship is administered by the University of Florida. However, you do not have to attend the University of Florida to be a recipient.

McKnight Doctoral Fellowship $5,000 per year

Sponsored by The Florida Education Fund: Open to African American and Hispanic U.S. citizens who have completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and who intend to enroll as a full time Ph.D. student in any eligible program identified on the website. All recipients of the McKnight Ph.D. Fellowship must agree to seek a professional position at a four-year Florida university upon receipt of their degree. There is also an Opportunity to receive an annual stipend of $12,000 for students pursuing PhD degrees.

NAFA Corporate Aviation Business Scholarship Amount Varies

The NAFA Corporate Aviation Business Scholarship was established to benefit university students seeking a business career in Corporate Aviation and, specifically, within the corporate aircraft Finance, Legal and Insurance community.
This Scholarship is offered by the National Aircraft Finance Association (“NAFA”), and the amount of Scholarship funds to be made available each year, and for any one Scholarship winner, shall be determined annually by the NAFA Board of Directors.
NAFA will accept applications from qualified applicants attending Colleges and Universities offering course work in Accounting, Business Marketing, Economics, and/or Finance, with a focus on Aviation Business/Management. All interested applicants must apply through their University’s Financial Aid office, and the University shall submit to NAFA, by no later than October 31st, a list of applicants meeting the NAFA Scholarship requirements. The NAFA Board shall approve all Scholarships to be awarded each year, and advise all Applicants through their University’s Financial Aid Office, by November 30th.

Rise Marketing Scholarship 1,000

Sponsored by Rise: Undergraduate or Graduate students interested in applying for the Rise scholarship have to major in a STEM subject and attend an accredited college or university. The Winning student receives $1,000 towards his or her degree, and two runner ups will receive a $250 book scholarship.

Roy W. Linkins Scholarship up to 2,500/ year

Sponsored by Florida Section, American Water Works Assoc: Two-year scholarships are awarded annually to an upper level undergraduate (> 65 credit hours) and a graduate student towards tuition, books and fees. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA are be majoring in an area related to the drinking water industry. Scholarships will be made on the basis of academics, work experience, civic activities, career goals, letters of recommendation, and evidence of leadership, motivation, character and self-reliance. SACAC Horizon Award


Sponsored by Southern Association of College Admission Counsel. Students eligible to apply for the Horizon Award are high school seniors attending schools within the nine member states of SACAC (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) and the Caribbean. In addition to the application itself, students will be asked to supply a name and email address for a recommender.

The Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program $2,500

The Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program awards more than $150,000 in assistance every year to college-bound students around the globe. Scholarships are awarded based solely on 550-word essays expressing applicants’ academic and professional goals and how their personal experiences will help them to accomplish those goals.

The U.S. scholarship program relies on approximately 450 dedicated volunteers around the country, with support from the Foundation’s office staff. U.S. applicants need not be Mensa members. However, college-bound Mensa members and their dependents may also be eligible for one of several $2,500 scholarships awarded each year through the Mensa Member Scholarship Program.

The International Scholarship Program is open to international Mensans (other than American Mensa). One scholarship, which also includes dependents of international Mensa members, is for those attending college in the United States. The other scholarships are for international Mensans attending college other than in the U.S.
