Outside Scholarships And Grants

Need a little bit more money to help with college?  Florida Tech encourages all students to apply for outside scholarships.   Sometimes searching for scholarships can be quite intimidating, especially with the risk of scams.  FinAid.org/Scholarships can quickly arm you with the knowledge to smartly and efficiently search for scholarship aid and avoid scholarship scams.  To learn more about how to avoid scams and report fraudulent activity, visit the Federal Trade Commision's Scholarship and Financial Aid Scams web page.

MAMA Crocker Snow Scholarship Up to $4,000 

On behalf of the Massachusetts Airport Management Association (MAMA) and its Board of Directors, the Scholarship Committee would like to inform you of MAMA’s 2022 Crocker Snow Scholarship. Massachusetts-resident students pursuing careers in airport management or a related field that are enrolled in (or accepted for enrollment in) an accredited aviation-related undergraduate program are encouraged to apply. McKnight Doctoral Fellowship $5,000 per year

Up to 50 Fellowships are awarded annually to study at one of nine participating Florida universities. Each award provides annual tuition up to $5,000 (tuition above this amount is waived by the participating institution) for each of three academic years plus an annual stipend of $12,000. (An additional two years of support at this same level is provided by the participating institution.) The award also includes a comprehensive system of counseling and professional development support.

Each annual renewal is contingent upon satisfactory performance and normal progress toward the Ph.D. degree.

NAFA Corporate Aviation Business Scholarship Amount Varies

The NAFA Corporate Aviation Business Scholarship was established to benefit university students seeking a business career in Corporate Aviation and, specifically, within the corporate aircraft Finance, Legal and Insurance community.
This Scholarship is offered by the National Aircraft Finance Association (“NAFA”), and the amount of Scholarship funds to be made available each year, and for any one Scholarship winner, shall be determined annually by the NAFA Board of Directors.
NAFA will accept applications from qualified applicants attending Colleges and Universities offering course work in Accounting, Business Marketing, Economics, and/or Finance, with a focus on Aviation Business/Management. All interested applicants must apply through their University’s Financial Aid office, and the University shall submit to NAFA, by no later than October 31st, a list of applicants meeting the NAFA Scholarship requirements. The NAFA Board shall approve all Scholarships to be awarded each year, and advise all Applicants through their University’s Financial Aid Office, by November 30th.

Postdoctoral Fellowship $45,000 for 1 year

RAA Scholarship $4,000

Sponsored by the RAA Scholarship Foundation: The primary purpose of the Regional Airline Association Scholarship is to assist with the education of individuals who are studying for a career in the airline industry by providing financial support.

Sponsored by Richard Zahn. Future entrepreneurship students are encouraged to apply for the scholarship, where $25,000 will be awarded to a single student planning on studying to become an entrepreneur.  There is a short essay requirement and the winner will be chosen based off the content in the essay.

Rise Marketing Scholarship $1,000

Sponsored by Rise: Undergraduate or Graduate students interested in applying for the Rise scholarship have to major in a STEM subject and attend an accredited college or university. The Winning student receives $1,000 towards his or her degree, and two runner ups will receive a $250 book scholarship.

Roy W. Linkins Scholarship up to $2,500/ year

Sponsored by Florida Section, American Water Works Assoc: Two-year scholarships are awarded annually to an upper level undergraduate (> 65 credit hours) and a graduate student towards tuition, books and fees. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA are be majoring in an area related to the drinking water industry. Scholarships will be made on the basis of academics, work experience, civic activities, career goals, letters of recommendation, and evidence of leadership, motivation, character and self-reliance. Scholarship will be awarded by August 1st and paid through the Financial Aid Office.

Sallie Mae Fund $10,000

The Bridging the Dream Scholarship for High School Seniors: In 2021, The Sallie Mae Fund will award (25) $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a two- or four-year degree professional certificate, or vocational training program. Seniors who excel inside and outside of the classroom and demonstrate financial need can apply.

Sallie Mae Fund $2,500

The Completing the Dream Scholarship: In 2021, The Sallie Mae Fund will award (260) gap scholarships worth up to $2,500 for students who are from Underserved Communities or are a Diverse Candidate (Which may mean Diverse in: Gender, Race, Ability, Ethnicity) Who are on track to graduate but are at-risk of not completing due to financial emergency or unpaid school bill.

The Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program $2,500

The Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program awards more than $150,000 in assistance every year to college-bound students around the globe. Scholarships are awarded based solely on 550-word essays expressing applicants’ academic and professional goals and how their personal experiences will help them to accomplish those goals.

The U.S. scholarship program relies on approximately 450 dedicated volunteers around the country, with support from the Foundation’s office staff. U.S. applicants need not be Mensa members. However, college-bound Mensa members and their dependents may also be eligible for one of several $2,500 scholarships awarded each year through the Mensa Member Scholarship Program.

The International Scholarship Program is open to international Mensans (other than American Mensa). One scholarship, which also includes dependents of international Mensa members, is for those attending college in the United States. The other scholarships are for international Mensans attending college other than in the U.S.

Sponsored by Space Coast Women In Defense: Open to U.S. citizen females residing in Brevard County Florida who have been accepted to, or are enrolled in, an accredited post-secondary college, university or online program.  Applicants must have a 3.25 GPA and be able to demonstrate financial need as well as their interest in pursuing a career related to national security, defense, or a STEM-related field.

Women In Transportation Scholarship $1,972

Sponsored by the WTS: Open to Women with a 3.0 or higher GPA enrolled in a Central Florida degree program in a transportation-related field. High school students must be seniors for the 23/24 school year, enrolled in high school STEM studies, and considering a career in a transportation related field. Students must either have a permanent address or attend school within Central Florida.
