Federal Grants
A grant is a form of federal financial assistance that funds ideas, research and projects that provide public services or stimulate the economy. Grants support critical recovery initiatives, innovative research and many other programs listed in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA).

The federal grant process follows a lifecycle outlined on the Grants.gov website. See the grant lifecycle overview for a full explanation of how grants are created, awarded and managed.
Each phase of the lifecycle has a dedicated page with additional information about the roles and responsibilities of applicants and grant-making agencies.
