Civil Engineering Assistantships
Teaching Assistantships
The department typically hires anywhere from 1 to 6 teaching assistants every year. Applicants are primarily selected based on their GPA, TOEFL score, GRE score, and recommendations. Teaching assistants are required to have a minimum PBT TOEFL score of greater than 600 (100 on the iBT scale). Teaching assistants are also required to take a week-long seminar, and demonstrate teaching proficiency after completing the seminar.
Research Assistantships
Applicants are primarily selected based on their GPA, TOEFL score, GRE score, recommendations, and Statement of Objectives. Research assistants are required to have a TOEFL score of greater than 550. Students are encouraged to contact the faculty members in their respective areas of interest for availability of research assistantships.
