Important Information Regarding Identity Theft

The Department of Security has received calls from concerned parents regarding their children's personal information. This is a reminder that you should NEVER give out your personal information to someone you do not know or trust. There has been an incident on campus where a person said to have represented the Discover Card company, began calling students trying to get personal information (i.e. Social Security number, bank account number, mother's maiden name, etc.). We have since contacted the individuals involved and prohibited them from calling student's here, but that does not mean that another person or company will not attempt to do the same thing.

Again, please do not ever give out any personal information, whether it be over the phone, Internet or in person, to someone you do not know or trust regardless of who they say they are.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if you'd like to report an incident of this type, please feel free to call 321-674-8112 or come by the Security Welcome Center located at 3126 Panther Place.
