Working With WFIT

PSA Guidelines

Public Service Announcements are brief (30 seconds) announcements that WFIT broadcasts on behalf of local organizations a public service.  They are reserved for publicizing the events or services of nonprofit organizations and governmental groups. Due to FCC regulations, no political or religious announcements are accepted.

When submitting content for consideration by WFIT, keep in mind that we are more likely to broadcast information about cultural or philanthropic events of wide public interest. Potential PSAs must be submitted at least two weeks prior to date-specific events. If you would like WFIT to air a PSA on your behalf, send us a press release or message containing all of the following information:

  • Who will host the event? (Name of your organization.)
  • What type of event is it? Be specific. (Presentation, show, lecture, conference, concert?)
  • When will the event take place? (Time and date.)
  • Where will the event take place? (City and address.)
  • Why should the WFIT be interested? (Brief mission statement or purpose.)
  • Web address.
  • Point of contact name, email and phone number.
